Jollydays Glamping is a delightful gem, hidden with 200 acres of glorious woodland close to York. This unique woodland camp holds a coveted Green Tourism Scheme Gold Award, it has fabulous, safari style tents each sleeping up to six. They each have four-poster beds, woodburners as well as a kitchen and bathroom, complete with roll top baths, showers and loos. Each tent is privately situated, with a large veranda, BBQ and picnic bench.
The camp has a lovely communal vibe and is perfect for families, the tea tent is open 24 hours and a pizza oven sits next to the central campfire – this comes into its own at dusk, with a massive canopy ensuring it can be used whatever the weather. With rope swings and a Wendy house nearby, this is an ideal spot for kids to get together, or adults to bond over wine and toasted marshmallows.
The magical woodland is a paradise for children, little ones will be captivated by some of the rustic fairy houses peeping from the greenery, whilst older kids can perfect their den building skills. This is Enid Blyton inspired fun, where families can bask in nature and enjoy simple, old fashioned fun.
Why families love it
Where Jollydays differs from other glamping sites has to be the gorgeous woodland location, where kids can feel wild and free, creating their own Swallows and Amazons type adventures.
